Who Should Attend? This course is for those who have entered, or are about to enter the construction and civil engineering industry as a member of the workforce, to help them understand the potential hazards that they face at work on site.
Course Overview: On completion of the course, attendees shall be able to apply for the CSCS Green Card for labourers as it is a mandatory element to obtain your CSCS card.
Course Content: The course will cover the following: –
– Understanding the need to prevent accidents
– Understanding of health and safety law
– How roles fits into the control and management of the site
– Understanding the need for risk assessments and method statements
– Appreciating the need to perform safely and to stop and ask for advice if not sure
– The obligation to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident
Training Method: Theory with discussion. Power Point presentation.
Course Materials: Provided by tutor.
Attendee Requirements: There are no set entry requirements for this qualification. However, attendees must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
Assessment: Continuously assessed through a range of discussion and practical exercises throughout entire course. To obtain the CSCS labourer’s Green Card, attendees will have to pass the CSCS multiple choice computer based test as a designated testing centre and then apply to the CSCS upon successful completion.
Certification: A CITB Certificate of Training will be issued to all those who complete the course to a satisfactory standard.
